A public concert has been held at the Royal Opera House Muscat’s (ROHM) new House of Musical Arts building for the first time.

The new venue, which was inaugurated back in January, is connected to the ROHM by an intricate pedestrian bridge.

Last night, Myung-Whun Chung directed the Filarmonica della Scala through present Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor with pianist Alexander Romanovsky, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathetique.

Tonight Chung will present Dvořák’s famous New World Symphony No. 9 in E minor in the second concert for the start of the 2019/20 season.

Prices for the performances range from OMR5 up to OMR300 for a box, and you can book on the ROHM website here.

The House of Musical Arts building hosts culture and arts exhibition as well as a musical library and extensive archive facility.
