Time Out Says

The striking mountain range inland of Muscat make for spectacular views, whether viewed from the city outskirts looking back on the rugged beauty, or gazing down from the heights on Muscat and the Gulf of Oman. The pinnacle, literally, is Jebel Shams. It reaches to more than 3,000m and is a popular destination if you're willing to make the 240km drive from Muscat.
