There are already plenty of five-star hotels in Muscat, but the range of luxury options is about to get even bigger as the Mandarin Oriental is planning on opening a hotel in the Oman capital.
Set to open in 2021, the property will have 150 rooms, five restaurants and bars, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, a ballroom and a gym.
The location in Shatti Al Qurum will mean guests are close to top attractions including the Royal Opera House, the Grand Mosque, and the Muttrah Souk.
Visitors will also be able to walk along the 235 m long beachfront on the property and enjoy sea views from their rooms.
Developed by Eagle Hills and built by L&T Oman, there are also plans for 156 residences to be built by June 2022.
These include a number of one to three-bedroom apartments and two four-bedroom penthouses, ranging in size from 70 to 260 sq m.
Mandarin Oriental has said these residences will offer luxury beachfront living with all the benefits of staying at a Mandarin Oriental hotel.
Low Ping, CEO of Eagle Hills, previously said of the project, “Considering Muscat’s strong thrust in maintaining the natural and cultural heritage of the Sultanate, Eagle Hills is bringing in its unique capabilities to provide investors and home buyers a taste of luxury defined by a world-renowned hotel group that is highly experienced in honouring traditions.
“We are confident that Mandarin Oriental will deliver the most exclusive concept of branded residences that will redefine Oman’s property and hospitality landscape.”
