Two coronavirus testing centres open in Muscat

Two coronavirus testing centres have opened in Muscat, the Directorate General of Health Services has announced.

The centres, located in the Al Rusayl Industrial Estate and Al-Sharadi in Seeb, are aimed at helping expats who show symptoms of COVID-19.

Samples taken at either of the health centres will be sent off to the central lab in Darsit for testing.

If the result is positive, the patient will be referred to a health centre for treatment.

There are four testing centres currently in operation. These are located at the Muttrah Health Centre, Sablat Muttrah, Harat Al Shamal and in Hayy Al Mina.

All of the testing centres are open daily between 9am and 1pm.

Oman is taking a number of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, including locking down hotspot areas including the governorate of Muscat and the market in Jalan Bani Bu Ali.
