Tourism boats in Oman allowed to resume operations

Marinas, pleasure and tourism boats in Oman are now allowed to resume operation, the Ministry of Transport has announced.

You will now be able to head out on a boat trip, but only if you follow strict regulations and rules designed to help curb the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

These include wearing face masks in all public areas of marinas, maintaining social distancing and avoiding gatherings.

Marinas must also provide hand sanitisers throughout, and there will be number restrictions on how many people can go on each boat depending on size.

Only ten people will be allowed on superyachts, including staff, while pleasure boats can only take six passengers, all of whom must be from the same family.

Tourism boats can only be used by the owner and up to six members from their household.
