Ramadan in Muscat 2020: Oman’s Madayn launches charity campaign to help disadvantaged families

Madayn has launched its annual Ramadan charity campaign.

The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) will be distributing Omani products to disadvantaged families across the Sultanate.

Madayn has teamed up with a number of companies and factories across Oman, including Areej Vegetable Oils and Derivatives, Nizwa Food Industries and Oasis Water Company, for the campaign.

Madayn’s Social Responsibility Department collected donations from the companies involved before buying other necessary products and supplies. The team then organised the donations into boxes for distribution.

A number of the donation boxes have been given to the Oman Charitable Organisation for distribution among families affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Muscat governorate.

Families in other governorates will receive their boxes later this week.

Ramadan is expected to begin on either Thursday (April 23) or Friday (April 24) this year, but will depend on the sighting of the new moon.
